Lord, ! k$ z( i' ~0 E& j0 W
having transformed
! n/ K( B# ? W: ~8 Ksunshine and soil and water and seed,
9 \5 H3 V" f7 tinto food upon which we are soon to feed,
7 `/ q, ~$ v( V$ qwe thank you for life and we want to stay well,
" N$ ~$ H4 G; v3 I- B/ Y3 bso we promise to rub our hands with Purell.
7 w8 J' P5 t% i/ l% eWe who came first and are ready to dine& `! T7 V: c( \: n5 f
thank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
5 P: j' C- Q1 gbut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait, % _, B9 s5 v1 r0 m% }1 \
we shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.) R6 m& N* x% `6 }! e
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others ' y( C. A. W1 R2 e8 \' v
the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted
; p7 u$ B' X3 {$ A! ^the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted
