Footprints in the Sand

4 o0 d6 _; _" s% t4 R2 fOne night I had a dream
5 j! u! o) |7 x! eI was walking along the beach with my Lord.
+ C9 h4 ^  X3 h9 w' T# h) sAcross the sky flashed scenes from my life.
' a  R5 j" [3 S  bFor each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
9 e8 J4 i, \- q- I! o8 mone belonging to me4 `% k2 U- y; ]
and the other to my Lord.0 K% b6 I1 M* {$ F& B* F1 n0 b
When the last scene of my life shot before me3 ]( A+ |+ V, v9 |% w
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
. K  _6 N8 j: a, a  z. G, TThere was only on set of footprints.( r2 F* E1 {  S" K# n
I realized that this was at the lowest / _% w. p- L6 W; P
and saddest times in my life.
8 t$ ^; x1 G. v8 v9 l) @; zThis always bothered me ' i$ z! J9 A! c7 [3 @" M
and I questioned the Lord4 w" L5 E" X! S, [
about my dilemma.1 y& _# e! x- s; H4 i
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
+ n4 Q6 n! z7 i: h' E# xYou would walk and talk with me all the way.
* S: s& ~% v5 D  c7 `: Z4 L5 k, J0 dBut I'm aware that during the most troublesome
0 r" m: V1 L) I1 P5 }times of my life there is only one set of footprints.7 ?7 Z# C; y( d( ~  N( H# T3 s
I don't understand why, when I needed You most,
3 A1 |# ^; [+ @! K$ n+ i  Tyou leave me."5 I+ m$ W+ `+ J
He whispered,  "My precious, precious child,& l6 N9 B- t7 ^/ f
I love you and will never leave you' b+ I6 G% N5 A8 J

When you saw only one set of footprints
