Lord, 0 L9 y* G1 V& t* t8 J' \; Z3 P' F/ t
having transformed3 K% n0 O. ]( \! ?6 F% X1 k
sunshine and soil and water and seed,9 V3 o' b& _: S5 F5 u$ U8 v9 }6 k8 z
into food upon which we are soon to feed,
( Q; ~$ P- A/ H9 ^/ t6 Jwe thank you for life and we want to stay well,
9 r% d! u4 v" }, ~+ tso we promise to rub our hands with Purell." g* @0 u! v& {7 M9 b. ]" v" l
We who came first and are ready to dine
; ~8 L' M. ]* V5 cthank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
, [, ~0 R* h" W& |9 T$ Cbut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
% k$ h: J Z6 {we shall not be greedy and heap up our plate." F8 X$ ~# P0 b3 V
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others 6 ^- E) I" e/ P( Y
the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted 3 S* ?3 e A: P# V8 T
the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted
$ P6 Q$ `/ A! d: vWe thank you for people so generous and kind
