Lord, . }, ]/ A6 ?- R( A1 P. M* f9 h
having transformed
( u& s) g3 [. c, D! c k& Csunshine and soil and water and seed,
, A8 K7 u0 I. y4 U5 iinto food upon which we are soon to feed, # I# b# F/ Q7 a; \* K. K% H2 u3 d
we thank you for life and we want to stay well,
8 B. n* C9 D, ]% y0 n6 Aso we promise to rub our hands with Purell.; c s3 Y' j1 c6 A8 Q, M& ^
We who came first and are ready to dine
. v. v4 r8 t \ G& hthank you that we’re not still waiting in line,
@" b9 L1 k9 B; h; ^9 y% Dbut for those who are hungry and eagerly wait,
/ Q" x& P! R* w" v. ?% jwe shall not be greedy and heap up our plate.1 [! D& @. o3 B( |; ~/ F% k
Instead we’ll be thoughtful of all the others ) w7 m8 V H/ U" L; @4 p, H
the way we were taught by our own loving mothers.

We smell the potatoes all spicy and roasted ) R0 O+ y( s! z+ ~; T& D. M
the aroma of casseroles perfectly toasted 1 x" O9 W5 r' _; M) b! L
We thank you for people so generous and kind
